OK as I was saying

like 3 days ago. Sorry I got busy. We have a new and improved bedtime routine. We give the babies their last bottle at 6:30 pm and they are sound asleep by 7 to 7:30 pm. It has been really nice the past week. I get to spend more time with Aaron and Ashley and we have even been able to watch a few movies. I go to bed about 9 and the babies wake up again at midnight and then about 4 am.
The babies have been so smiley lately. It has been so cute seeing them smile and laugh at every little thing. Finally they are starting to interact. I know it goes by so fast so we are trying to remember every moment. The babies favorite thing right now is when Aaron or I dance around to the music on their bouncer. Preston laughs out loud and Lily smiles real big when they watch us.
I am still working on their scrapbook. It is so easy when you start at birth and not try to put a scrapbook together when your baby is 13. Poor Ashley. I had great intentions for her book but never got around to it. I am working on a smaller book that highlights her though.
Yesterday we went and ate lunch with Ashley at her school. All the teachers and students loved the babies. Of course they all thought they were the cutest babies ever!!!! After that we went to my old office to visit my old boss who wasn't there a few weeks ago when we visited. It's so nice to be able to get out and I am so grateful that the babies travel so well. I guess they are used to it since I am a girl on the go. I will be home the rest of the week until Friday when we have MOPS (mothers of preschoolers) and a Scrapbooking party at my friend Jenn's. YIPPY!!!! The babies are coming so I am not sure how much I will get done. Hopefully they will be sleeping. :) Then Sunday we have my dad's 60th birthday party I am planning. I am so excited. I love parties. Since Aaron is in Scotland I am solo for the next week and a half. Wish me luck!!!

Preston has been babbling up a storm lately. I finally got it on video. Lily just started the past few days. I haven't caught her on video yet.

12 weeks old

You would think 12 weeks is the same as 3 months right.........wrong! My ticker says they are 2 months 3 weeks and 3 days. So I am going with 12 weeks. Meme came over today to visit and we went to Dustin and Tasha's to visit. The kids love the babies so much. All Kate wants to do is hold their hand. So cute!!!
So big for 12 weeks :(

Scrapbooking monster!!

Jenn, you created a monster.

I have finally started to scrapbook and can't stop. I have my dining room table full of stickers, paper and photos. I love it!!! I have gone to Target and WalMart looking for new scrapbook stuff and things to get organized. Seriously you have created a monster. I am having so much fun though. It is amazing how creative I feel once I sit down and start cutting and pasting. Here are a few pages I have created so far. I can't wait unti lour next scrapbooking get together.

To all my bloggers: My sister in law, Tasha told me about this awesome thing Google has called Google Reader. You input the blogs you read and it tells you when there are new posts. It's awesome. The only thing is you can only subscribe to blogspot/blogger blog's. Still it's awesome.

Just when things are going good!

The babies have been doing so well eating every 4 hours and taking 3 naps a day. Well Monday night they took their last bottle at 8 pm then went to sleep and woke up at 12, 3:30 am , 6:30 am and 9:30 am. I have no idea why they went back to 3 hours, maybe a growth spurt. So I decided last night I would take the advice of a friend and try a "dream feeding" that's where you give the baby a bottle right before you go to bed so they sleep longer and don't wake up due to hunger. OK so last night they ate after their bath at 8 then I gave them the "dream feeding" at 10pm, they both ate 2 oz and we all went to bed. At midnight both babies woke up for their regular feeding. HA I am sure they were laughing at me saying "thanks mom for the appetizer at 10 but we want the real meal now" After the midnight feeding they woke up at 4 am (Aaron woke up too and went to work!!!!!), then 8 am. I know you can not ever tell what babies are going to do from one night to the next. I guess that's why everyone says to sleep when they sleep. Easier said than done though. I am getting enough rest though. I just think it's funny that the dream feeding is supposed to make them sleep longer and both my babies woke up at their regular time to eat their regular bottle.
Ahhh I just realized they are 11 weeks old today :( they are getting so big so fast.
I am so excited to be working on their scrapbook. I have some ideas for pages that I need to get supplies for. I am planning to do 4 layouts for now: first bath, first smile, shh baby sleeping and hangin with dad. My friend Jenn has really inspired me to get back into scrap booking. I have never really been able to get into it but now I promise to finish what I start. Our church has a craft and crop once a month at will give me the chance to focus on nothing but scrap booking. The first one I am going to is this Friday. As I finish pages I will post them.

2 month Dr visit

We had our 2 month check up today. Our appt was at 9 am and we got there on time, actually we were early by 5 mins, yay mom!!!! We got weighed and measured Preston weighs 11 lbs and is 21 in long and Lily weighs 9 lbs and is 20 3/4 in long. We got 3 shots today and it hurt like h%#&.



It was time for the babies to eat at 10 so I was feeding them when the nurse came in to do their shots. We let Preston go first since he is the brave boy. He did very well and only SCREAMED for a few mintues.






Lily on the other hand threw up when the nurse was giving her the oral rotovirus medicine. Thank god for a well stocked diaper bag with fresh clothes. Once we were all done we went o my old office to visit. We hadn't been there and they were dying to hold the babies. While we were there I changed Preston's diaper and he peed everywhere. Once again good thing for that stocked diaper bag. We went to lunch with everyone to Sweet Mesquite YUM!!! I sure miss those guys. We used to crack up at the silliest things. We are home now and the babies are sleeping very well in their carriers. I hate to move them I am afraid they will wake up.
Tonight we are going to walk with Tasha, Jenn and Kim. Maybe mommy can lose some of that baby weight.

Fun day

We had a very fun day with the family. Today was my niece Jordan's 2nd birthday party. We went to my sister's about 2. The whole family was their so the babies never got put down. They were a little fussy. I guess they are starting to get used to their routine and nap schedule that when it gets messed up they get fussy. Anyway. All the kids in the family had such a good time. Aunt Michelle rented a fun jump and the kids jumped for hours. I managed to not get one single pic. That's typical for me though. I complain about not having any recent pics then don't take any when all the kids are together. The babies had so much fun that it is now 9:20 and they have both eaten and are passed smooth out in their beds. If I have not said it before I will say it now. I love my family and love getting together. We have so many kids in the family now that it's so fun. It used to be just Ashley (13) and Micah (9) now we have Jakob (3), Jordan (2), Kate (1), the twins and another cousin on the way. Next Christmas will be so fun!!!

Our first trip to LA and baby update

LA was awesome. We got to visit with everyone and loved spending time with Aaron's family. It was time to come back home though. We got in yesterday. We stopped in Beaumont to eat and feed the babies. They do so well in the car. I hope it's always like that because there will be lots of trips to LA.
Last night after the babies 10 feeding they went to sleep and didn't wake up until 4:30!!! They must have been ready to get back in their bed. At 5 when when we put them to sleep they didn't wake up until 9:30am. It was nice I can only hope they do the same tonight.
We have been doing tummy time. I usually do it through out the day for a few minutes. Both babies enjoy it for about 5 mins until they start crying. Their heads are pretty strong though. Lily is about a week behind Preston also. He started following objects before she did and his head control is alot better than hers is.
Preston is eating 5 oz and Lily eats 3-4 oz every 3-4 hours. At night it's 4-5 hours. We are 100% formula now. I gave up breast feeding last week. It was so hard and I felt like I was nursing/pumping every hour. I haven't weighed them since before Christmas. I will weigh them before their bath tonight though. Lily is in newborn diapers and Preston in size 1. Both babies are in newborn clothes. They get so big so fast. I will be glad though when they start smiling, cooing and laughing consistently.
